Refunds & Fees

How money moves

  1. You pledge to a school-specific pool. Funds are captured through Stripe and held on Fan Fund's platform balance.
  2. When the athlete's verified commitment is recorded, the matching pool settles to the athlete's Stripe Connect account, minus Stripe fees and the disclosed platform fee.
  3. Non-matching pools are refunded to the original payment methods. We attempt refunds automatically; if the card or account is no longer reachable we'll contact you.

Fees

Stripe processing fees apply to every contribution and are shown at checkout. Fan Fund's platform fee is also shown at checkout and is deducted from the transfer to the athlete. Processor fees from the original charge may or may not be recovered during a refund; this follows Stripe's network rules.

Timeouts

If no qualifying outcome is recorded before the pool's refund deadline (set when the pool is created), contributions are automatically refunded.

Disputes & chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback, we will surrender the disputed funds and work with Stripe's dispute process. Coordinated chargeback abuse will result in account termination. For normal refund requests, please contact support@fanfund.314-apps.com before filing a chargeback; we can resolve most cases within a couple of business days.

After settlement

Once funds have been transferred to an athlete, Fan Fund cannot claw them back. Post-settlement disputes (outcome reversed, fraud discovered after the fact) are handled case-by-case, informed by our fraud and eligibility policies.
